Microsoft Flight Simulator Airbus A330 by Aerosoft

Today third-party developers had news and multiple releases to share about Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons including aircraft and airports.

We start with a development update by Aerosoft about the upcoming Airbus A330

We hear that the aircraft is undergoing internal testing with about 20 testers. There are currently 285 reported bugs and improvement requests for the aircraft.

About 30 are low priority. 90 have already been fully evaluated, assigned to developers, and ready for being worked on. 29 have already been solved and are awaiting testing.

Below you can also take a look at the issues broken down by category.

Microsoft Flight Simulator A330 issues by category

It's worth noting that these issues are of varying complexity, so some may be solved very quickly, while others may take more time. Aerosoft is currently focusing on solving these bugs before adding new features. Once the number of issues is lower, they may be able to estimate a release date.

Moving on to releases, the Embraer E190-E2 and E195-E2 package by Virtualcol has been released on the official marketplace. It's priced at $17.99 for both PC and Xbox.

You should keep in mind that according to the developers themselves, this isn't a study-level aircraft (it's actually rather far from it) and it's geared to simply having fun flying around.

Another release comes from iniBuilds and Fly X Simulations, and it's Teesside International Airport (EGNV) in the UK. It's available on iniBuilds' own store and Simmarket starting at $15.25 plus VAT.

It includes the following features:

  • The most detailed replica of Teesside airport and the terminal & surrounding buildings
  •  Custom surrounding models and features included.
  •  All materials created with PBR textures
  •  Shading and occlusion (texture baking) effects on all airport buildings & high-resolution textures
  •  Use of native, highly efficient gITF models
  •  Custom orthophoto for the airport and surrounding areas

Another airport comes from FeelThere, and it's Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (MMPR) serving Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. You can find it on Simmarket for $24.07 promising the following:

  • Highly detailed buildings with PBR texturing.
  • Complete modelled ground polygon including realistic decals, dirt, taxi lines and surfaces.
  • Custom animated jetways.
  • Airline parking codes and modified airport services.
  • Updated AFCAD, parking spots, taxiway names and taxi signs.
  • Improved taxiway and runway lighting.
  • Multiple objects and clutter placed over the airport using the SDK.
  • Improved night lighting and apron lamps.
