Starfield

Today Bethesda and AMD have announced an exclusive partnership for the PC version of the sci-fi RPG Starfield.

The announcement was made with a video starring game director Todd Howard himself and AMD's general manager of Computing and Graphics Business Group Jack Huynh as they announced that the game will be optimized on PC for AMD GPUs and CPUs including FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 (FSR 2) support.

At the moment, we don't know what this will mean precisely for Nvidia and Intel users, but this kind of deal normally ends with the exclusion of DLSS support, which many do not find an amusing prospect.

We reached out to Bethesda and Microsoft to request a clarification on this, and will let you know if we hear anything in response.

You can check out the video below.

Starfield will release on  Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 6, 2023. If you'd like to see more, you can take a look at the brand-new story trailer from a few days ago and the most recent gameplay, on top of another trailer showcased a while ago. We also recently learned more details about companions, including which ones are available as romantic interests and the fact that the game supports going out on adventures without them.

Starfield was originally teased all the way back in 2018. It was supposed to release in November 2022, but it was then delayed to the first half of 2023
