Today D3 Publisher announced the upcoming release of a new DLC for its sci-fi action game Earth Defense Force 6

The DLC, titled "Visions of Malice" will be released in Japan on June 29. It includes over 30 missions with 5 difficulty levels each and over 100 weapons.

The missions are set in a virtual simulation created by Malice, the support AI that oversees the EDF Strategic Intelligence Department's database. The AI has collected data on all the worst enemies that appeared throughout the series, and players will face them in the simulation, which is deemed "extremely dangerous" and "filled with madness." It's recommended for real heroes only.

The DLC will be priced at 1,650 yen, which translates to approximately $11.5 at the current exchange rate.

This is actually the second DLC released for Earth Defense Force 6 since its release. While the game has been out in Japan for PS5 and PS4 for a while, fans are still waiting for the possible announcement of a western release. Earth Defense Force: World Brothers, which was announced at the same time, has already been launched in North America and Europe, but D3 Publisher has not mentioned anything specific about the sixth mainline chapter of the series.

You can check out a trailer for the DLC below, and plenty of gameplay showcased during a livestream from Japan on YouTube. Of course, we'll keep you informed if any announcement regarding a localization finally comes.
