A character using Strand in Destiny 2: Lightfall

Bungie has released a new Destiny 2: Lightfall Strand trailer, and this one's all about the new Strand subclass. It'll be the second subclass in the game built around Darkness, and the trailer shows each main class using Strand to devastating effect in combat.

In the trailer, an ominous voice intones that "now is the time to lean into using Strand, not back away from it". Judging by the chaos and carnage that ensue when players use it, that's not wrong. You can take a look at the new Destiny 2: Lightfall Strand trailer, which should get you hyped for the new subclass, right here.

The trailer first shows the Warlock, whose Strand subclass is the Broodweaver. This subclass is a "Threadling master", which means it can create tiny minions that surge forth to attack enemies. Following the Warlock, we get a look at the Titan using Strand; its subclass is Berserker, "the untamable force", and its attacks look suitably brutal.

Finally, there's the Hunter, whose Strand subclass is the Threadrunner. Bungie describes the class as "whiplash incarnate", and true to that name, we get to see the Hunter throwing Strand-based whips around and pulling off some pretty impressive parkour-style dodges. All in all, it looks like Strand is going to add even more variety and depth to Destiny 2's class system.

If you haven't caught up with it yet, I'd also highly recommend checking out the Lightfall trailer Bungie released last week, which shows off some of the expansion's new gear. It's looking like a pretty exciting time to be a Destiny 2 fan, so hopefully, these trailers have you hyped for what's next.

Destiny 2: Lightfall launches on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on February 28th. The expansion will see you heading to the Neptunian city of Neomuna to battle the Shadow Legion alongside the Cloud Striders, and will introduce new campaign missions, the new Strand subclass, and plenty more.
