Activision has released a brand new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 trailer reintroducing Vladimir Makarov, the overarching antagonist of the previous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series.
The trailer is more of a teaser than a full reveal, with Activision teasing that a full reveal for the character is coming on August 17th.
However, we get to see a little bit of the chaos that Makarov promises to bring, and we also get to hear a voiceover telling us exactly why we should be afraid of Makarov.
As a remix of Pusha T's "Just So You Remember" plays, Makarov is led through a prison in handcuffs, while simultaneously, chaos breaks out elsewhere. We also see Makarov receiving a new tattoo on his chest.
The voiceover, which sounds like it might be legendary Call of Duty mainstay Captain Price, says that to Makarov, "every ally is a weapon" and "every bystander [is] a shield".
Price (assuming it is him) goes on to say that "we don't know his next target, but we know ours", indicating that your role in Modern Warfare 3 will be to take down Makarov.
That would make sense given the way that 2022's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 ended (which I don't wish to spoil).
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was officially revealed on Monday, along with its release date of November 10th, after a reveal event for the game was teased back in mid-July.
It appears to be the first mainline Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game that isn't developed by Infinity Ward, with Advanced Warfare and Vanguard studio Sledgehammer Games taking on development duties instead.
At the moment, we don't know too much about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but it's likely that we'll get more info in the coming weeks as Activision and Sledgehammer build hype.
