Outpost: Infinity Siege

Team Ranger and Lightning Games announced that their ambitious FPS and base-building/defense Outpost: Infinity Siege has been delayed.

The game was expected to come this year, but it'll now launch in February 2024.

Alongside the delay, we get a trailer showing off the backstory (and in times of AI controversies and discourse about its dangers, it certainly hits home), on top of showing gameplay. We get to see both the more classic FPS gameplay and the base-building part.

When you build the titular outposts you then have to defend them against massive hordes of drones using both your own guns and the base's massive weaponry. It's certainly an interesting concept and you can see it in action below.

Lightning Games also published an interview with the developers as they describe the project and show off what the game is all about.

We also get an explanation from the producer about the delay. He mentions that the game is developed by a small team and they need more time to polish the game, develop the content, and do the necessary optimization.

The aim is to make the experience smooth so that player can have a comfortable gaming experience when the game launches.

You can watch it below while we wait for Outpost: Infinity Siege to launch on Steam in February 2024.
